     LE SHIATSU 指圧

SHIATSU is a manual energy art, a discipline and a technique of Japanese manual therapy inspired by Chinese massage. It has its source in Traditional Chinese Medicine, based on the movements of alternation and complementarity of energies (YIN / YANG), the correspondences between the 5 elements and the 12 meridians that run through the body . 

Shiatsu is part of a calligraphic movement of the whole body and invites the person who receives it to self-regulate, to enter into a harmonious cycle between him and the world: the psychic, the physical and the emotional are not not dissociated in the Shiatsu approach.

Shiatsu means “finger pressure”: the pressure most often performed with the thumb can be more or less strong, more or less subtle and accompanied by stretching or precise specific gestures.

Shiatsu energizes vital functions while providing immediate well-being and relaxation.

Indeed, the pressures make it possible to considerably reduce the accumulated tensions and invite the energies to circulate in a fluid way, freeing the body of its “bad stress”.

Stress that is sometimes the cause of back pain, muscle pain, headaches, anxiety, generally leading to overall and sometimes chronic fatigue.

SHIATSU, body energy stimulation, energizes, while considerably reducing tensions, soothing internal divisions, dispersing accumulations due in part to stress, bad postures, an intense rhythm of life.

I have been working daily for seven years in business, this daily professional experience allows me a quick discernment on the most frequently encountered problems in the context of work .

A session allows, in half an hour, to anchor the balance of the recipient in a space of regeneration of his whole organism.

What is  the objective of a Shiatsu workshop within the company itself?

I accompany the employee of the company to play down, even rethink his defense strategies, sometimes disproportionate, which oppress and exhaust him, and to energize or even strengthen his immune system.

Indeed, a psychological problem that disturbs the energetics can in the long run take root in the body and conversely, a weak or suffering body in turn influences the emotional.

Many individuals often sleep poorly because of badly "digested" events, badly mastered or misunderstood during the day, hurtful thoughts, underestimated or late work, personal or family problems that induce a vicious circle and unconsciously affect all of their work.

This further contributes to weakening them, affecting their health, their work and their community life.

There are indeed as many reactions to stress as there are manifestations of stress. Only suffering is common to all.

It is obvious that everyone reacts to "good" or "bad" stress in different ways.

The Shiatsu practitioner reports on the immediate energetic and organic state of the receiver.

The direct contact invites him to trust both his intuitions and the taking of the pulse. It thus allows him to evaluate the distance between the word and the real energy situation of the recipient. (what is formulated from what is not, experience has taught me to read between the lines many times). The relief that shiatsu provides is often proportional to the degree of stress experienced by the recipient.

Shiatsu can allow him to calmly apprehend some of the anxiety factors triggered by the awareness of his body, itself redefined from a holistic, interdependent point of view, and intimately connected to a space of which it is the occupant, in all serenity.

Shiatsu makes it possible to intervene positively on the mechanisms of the mental and emotional state of others, this central system which reconstructs our adequate peripheral circuits with the other.​

Shiatsu gives company employees the possibility of adapting differently by managing their stress in a positive way.

By reinterpreting the opening of certain spaces, he can thus create others, accessible, encouraging, bringing him renewed confidence allowing him to better discern the origin of his conflicts and thus find solutions to the management of his problems more serenely.

His ability to adapt is better, more open, his sense of listening and empathy more developed. He finds it easier to concentrate, he can take a step back, thus preventing him from going around in circles on surmountable points.

Shiatsu is very effective for back problems. The pressures contribute to relieve the tensions lodged at the level of the muscles and the tendons, it results from it tensions, pains and an embarrassment which block the good circulation of the vital energy.

This translates into the feeling of "being full", the person feels tired with an aching body. These blockages can lead to headaches, a latent lack of optimism and growing frustration and demotivation.

Problems of pain in the lower back (lumbago), in the neck (cervicalgia), tendonitis, pain in the wrists, migraines, knee problems etc... are very frequent in the context of life in a company.

Often these pains are due to bad postures, a lack or an excess of physical activities, a blocked diaphragm, tensions often accumulated by fatigue, lack of sleep, an inappropriate diet, an undervalued or badly treated trauma. , difficulty in breathing, difficult digestion.

Shiatsu dispenses pressures that allow the spinal column to be traversed and realigned, and the body to let go by a succession of more or less dosed pressures.

Shiatsu sessions can prevent occasional pain from becoming chronic, not only by dislodging tensions but also by initiating the recipient to identify and prevent them, not to resign himself to pain, and by advising him on the change in postural habits and the practice of small beneficial stretches .

The body tends towards a constant equilibrium (homeostasis).

The homeostatic mechanisms tolerate limited disturbances  but restore excessive turbulence generated from the outside by constant regulation.

Stress is an aggressive factor which, depending on its intensity, will solicit this internal thermostat with more or less violence.

The person who can no longer face between the perception that he has of the constraints of his work environment and that of his own resources is able to undergo this imbalance.

This may be violence suffered or that she perceives as such, reflected in her professional life and/or in her private sphere.

Each person's unique story finds an echo in other stories, but it is never exactly the same. And yet the society in which we live tends to cloning and weakens the individual who must know how to adapt and respond to external demands.

Our body, which has its own physiognomy, its own anatomy, will not react to a situation in the same way as another individual. There will be similarities but from these own coincidences will also arise differences at the risk of sometimes forgetting how unique each being is.

It is also this major difference common to all that must be preserved, cultivated as an asset and not as a defect because it is the foundation of diversity and the origin of tolerance.

Burn out, depression, violence, this vocabulary has become banal, let's make sure it is not trivialized.

The Shiatsu session allows calm to be restored and the person to catch their breath, they can refer again to a moment of calm and discern the factors and causes of their stress in order to face them more serenely, with confidence and benevolence in itself and its environment.

My role is to listen and discern with patience and benevolence, even to direct the person to a qualified specialist who can help him overcome this period if it has not already been done.

The dynamics of Shiatsu

I often hear people to whom I ask what they expect from their session, and discovering Shiatsu for the first time, answer me

"wanting to be "re-energized."

It wouldn't be fair to believe that Shiatsu will re-energize someone in one session.

Shiatsu will prepare the opening to a dynamic, as close as possible and in respect of the energy constitution of the person. It can be immediate if the person is ​ willing to receive it, or a little longer.

If this person is very tired, it will first be necessary to determine the causes of this vulnerability, to dislodge the tensions, to allow him to apprehend his body as a familiar and partially unknown envelope, which he will rediscover _cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ and duty   again, taming gently.

It can be faster or slower depending on age, background and context.

The body can obey the brain but it can also revolt. To rush the body is not to help it to be more reactive. Nor be complacent.

It does not fill the existing deficiencies, it helps to re-balance with accuracy, the spirit, the body and the emotional.
